Prominent historian and military teacher, Major General Viktor Afanasyevich Abaza (1831-1898) – the author of a number of textbooks on the history of Russia and military-historical research. Descended from a Moldavian noble family. In 1888 he published The History of Armenia, covering the period from the 3rd millennium BC to the 3rd millennium BC. until the first third of the 19th century. The events mentioned in Armenian sources make it possible not only to trace the history of Armenia, but also to clarify a number of events from the history of Assyria, Babylon, Egypt, Judea, Persia, Greece, Rome, as well as the small peoples of the Caucasus and the Caucasus.

Видный историк и военный педагог, генерал-майор Виктор Афанасьевич Абаза (1831-1898) – автор ряда учебников по истории России и военно-исторических исследований. Происходил из молдавского дворянского рода. В 1888 г. он выпустил «Историю Армении», охватывающий период с 3-го тысячелетия до н.э. до первой трети XIX в. События, упоминаемые в армянских источниках, позволяют не только проследить историю Армении, но и уточнить ряд событий из истории Ассирии, Вавилона, Египта, Иудеи, Персии, Греции, Рима, а также малых народов Закавказья и Кавказа.
